Thank you to everyone who contributed to the 24th Annual Battle of the Hors D’Oeuvres! With your help we were able to raise over $25,000 to support the mentoring programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex. Every dollar raised will help connect a caring adult mentor with a deserving child in our community.  As a result of these nurturing friendships, children do better in school and gain in self-esteem and self-confidence.

The “Battle” was a success by all accounts with 9 competitors, 10 wineries and hundreds of attendees joining our celebrity hosts Lisa Williams and Arms Bumanlag from AM800. The competition was fierce and delicious, with our “Critics Choice Awards” going to Oishii in the Restaurant category; University of Windsor Catering Services topping the Hospitality Epicurean category; and Century High School being declared best Up-and-Coming Chefs.

Community support is essential to the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission. From our Big Brothers, Big Sisters and group program leaders, to our dedicated volunteers, event sponsors and attendees, we rely on the generosity of people like you to help serve the needs of families across Windsor and Essex County.
